Net Metering

Export your excess solar energy back to the grid and reduce your electricity bills

Overview

What is net metering?

Net metering Brunei is a mechanism introduced by the Department of Energy Brunei under the Wawasan 2035 vision. It allows solar PV system owners to export excess energy generated back to the grid in return for credits — which are then applied to reduce your monthly electricity bill. Solara X manages the full net metering application on your behalf.

How it works

How your credits are calculated

Step 1

Your panels generate energy

Solar energy powers your home or business first.

Step 2

Excess is exported to the grid

Any surplus energy is sent back to the utility.

Step 3

Credits offset your bill

Credits are applied at the prevailing tariff rate and can roll over for up to 12 months.

Any unused credits accumulated beyond 12 months will be forfeited per DOE guidelines.
